Schick CDR software

The Schick CDR DICOM for Windows software covers all Schick imaging applications: intraoral radiography, pan/ceph radiography and intraoral photography. Importantly, it integrates with nearly all practice management systems. You can also scan-in old film-based X-rays and incorporate microscope images. The software itself gives many benefits both in the ease and speed with which you can take the images and what you can do with them once captured.

Taking the image

Prior to taking radiographic images all patient and image parameters can be set quickly and easily from your computer using the software’s simple user interface. In addition, an Auto- Acquire Mode allows you to take X-rays without having to use a keyboard, mouse or foot pedal. Just position the sensor and operate the X-ray source – the software will do the rest. As with all direct digital systems the image from each shot appears on screen almost immediately – in the case of Schick within 3 seconds – so you can instantly check if you have all the images required. You can also take a pre-defined series of X-rays or customise your own. Unlike other systems, however, Schick software has a unique AutoTake feature which allows you to take up to 21 images without having to go back to the computer. There is no time limit between shots, the system waits until you are ready. This enables you to position the sensor for different views without having to worry about the system ‘timing-out’. The image is also automatically orientated correctly, the date is saved and for medico-legal reasons the kVp, mA and exposure time are recorded.

Diagnostic tools

Once you have the images you need, the Schick software allows you to make various image manipulations in order to aid diagnosis. You can revert back to the original image at any time.

DICOM compliant

DICOM is an international interconnectivity standard which allows medical and dental images to be transferred between healthcare professionals and authorities, aiding diagnostic and treatment referrals and reimbursements. The Schick CDR DICOM for Windows software complies with this standard, allowing images to be shared externally with anyone even if they do not have the software. You can choose either a standalone or unlimited multi-user system.

Images can be viewed anywhere

To enable the images to be viewed in more than one room within a practice, the Schick software works with server based networks such as Novell®, Windows NT® and Unix/Linux.
